WHERE DO I GET MY MOTIVATION FROM?

Motivation comes in waves for me. Sometimes I’m one of the most motivated people you’ll ever meet: I’ll go to the gym, eat healthy, do my uni work as soon as I get it, see my friends, take photos for my blog and plan ideas. However, I also go through stages of serious de-motivation due to lack of progress, tiredness, stress and many other things. But who doesn’t? I’m sure anyone who has had to revise in their lifetime will understand the word ‘procrastination’. And I bet many of you, like me, think you’re now a pro at it. When I don’t see progress in the gym or work gets on top of me I find it so easy to give up.

So where do I find my motivation, especially when all I want to do is lay in bed?
Peers
I surround myself with positive people. Growing up I learnt that it’s okay to lose contact with negative friends and, what I call, half friends (those friends who are flaky and not true friends). Keep those around you who are ride or dies and look out for you. However, you need to know which situation each friend is appropriate. Some are the best for partying or the needed girl advice but distract you way too much, and others make the best revision buddies.
I also am massively influenced by my friends styles on what to put on my blog and their personal style. But, this does often leads me down the rabbit hole of online shopping and justifying it with the classic ‘It’s for the blog’ 🤦🏼‍♀️.
Two of my girls also have blogs (@yasminstefanie and @marbleousfood hit them up) and they give me advice and motivation on whats best for my blog whenever I need it.

Family
My parents always push me to do my best in school and my mum always made sure I stayed on track which I’m even more grateful for now. And my brothers and sisters are competition for doing better.

Other Blogs/Instagram
I think everyone is a victim of seeing something on instagram and then it being in your wardrobe within 3-5 working days, I am way too familiar with this routine (it’s more like a ritual now). But my favourite brands and blogs on Instagram motivate me to make my blog better. The content, topics, where I take the pictures, and the theme. These include: obviously my girl Yasmin Stefanie, also India Moon, Alicia Roddy, Amelia Taylor, Aimee Song, The Little Plum, Cinziabayliszullo and so many more (basically all the blogs I follow).

Celebrities
We all have our style inspo and those celebs whose insta’s and lives we are just too obsessed with. But this helps motivate me, drives my ambition to do better and reach my goals and inspires my blog from photos, backgrounds and clothes.
Mine include: Beyoncé because she is a fashion icon and could pull off a bin bag. I love Dua Lipa’s style and often stalk her insta for clothes inspo. Despite the mixed feelings about the Khardasian/Jenner family you have to admit they slay fashion and their lifestyle makes me more than jealous. Rihanna doesn’t even need an explanation, she slays everything and sets so many trends it’s hard to keep count. Emily Ratajkowski’s idgaf attitude and just way too cool to be my friend ever persona and style is a huge contributor to my shopping addiction.  Harry Styles and A$AP Rocky are, I think, two of the leaders in male fashion and they wear what ever the f**k they want and make it look good.
